THYMALIN //BELMEDPREPARATY// - natural peptide for immunity

THYMALIN is a natural immunostimulant based on thymus extract. Peptide in ampoules for intramuscular injection. The active ingredient of the preparation Tymalin is a complex of polypeptides isolated from bovine thymus. Thymalin has a regulating effect on the immune system. • Acute and chronic purulent-inflammatory diseases of viral and bacterial origin.

It is used in adults and children as an immunostimulant and biostimulant in the complex treatment of diseases accompanied by decreased cellular immunity, including acute and chronic purulent processes and inflammatory diseases, burns, trophic ulcers, etc., as well as for suppressed immunity and hematopoiesis after radiation or chemotherapy in cancer patients and other pathological processes. The preparation is also used to prevent infectious complications, suppression of immunity and hematopoiesis in the post-traumatic and post-operative periods, and during radiation and chemotherapy for cancer.

There is evidence of the effectiveness of thymalin in the complex treatment of erysipelas, chronic pyelonephritis, chemotherapy of pulmonary tuberculosis and other diseases.

Method of administration and dosage regimen:

The contents of the vial are diluted in 1-2 ml of isotonic sodium chloride solution and the contents are mixed by gentle shaking, preventing the formation of foam, until a uniform suspension is obtained.

Thymalin is injected deep into the muscle (avoiding blood vessels). Adults are prescribed 0.005-0.02 g (5-20 mg) daily (0.03-0.1 g per course). Children under 1 year of age are recommended to be administered 0.001 g (1 mg), 1-3 years old - 0.001-0.002 g (1-2 mg), 4-6 years - 0.002-0.003 g (2-3 mg), 7-14 years - 0.003-0.005 g (3-5 mg) for 3-10 days, depending on the severity of immune disorders.

If necessary, a repeat course is administered after 1–6 months.

For prophylactic purposes, adults are given 0.005–0.02 g daily, and children are given 0.001–0.005 g daily for 3–5 days.

Special instructions:

Prescription and treatment with thymalin must be carried out under the control of immunological parameters.

Side effects:

Allergic reactions to the components of the preparation are possible.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to any of the preparation's components. Pregnancy, lactation.

Precautionary measures:

Use with caution in patients with a history of allergies.

Interaction with other preparations:

Compatible with biostimulants and immunostimulating preparations, rifampicin, isoniazid, glucocorticoid preparations.

Concomitant use of T-activin, thymactide, thymogen or thymoptin, which have a similar mechanism of action, should be avoided.

Overdose:

There are no reports of overdose in humans.

In animal experiments, chronic administration in high doses causes thymus involution.
